   The Source of Courage

My Dad was a contractor who could build anything. He built churches and every kind of home. Dad had an excellent reputation because he never had a call back on his work or material. He would turn down work because people said they could get it cheaper, and his response was, “I am not coming back here in ten years to replace cheap material. Find someone else.” Some people did, others didn’t.

My Dad taught me not to compromise my values for personal gain or to please others. My Dad’s mantra was simple: ‘Do it right, or don’t do it.’ Jesus, too, exemplified this unwavering courage. He was resolute. Remember Jesus saying, “I do only what I see my Father doing.” Today, he told people, “You know me, and you know where I am from.”

Jesus wouldn’t go against Himself and His Father to get on the good side of people, even when it meant he could save His human life. The circumstances we face in life never change the TRUTH.

Gospel Challenge:

Where is Jesus, the TRUTH, challenging us to stand with Him? Pray for the courage, a fruit of His Holy Spirit, to see something through, but always follow His lead through His Peace in your heart.
