Think of someone close to you, your spouse, your best friend. Capture the moment you bore your heart to them. Did you feel accepted? Spend a moment or two experiencing that feeling. How important it is to know someone loves you at that moment. No one judges you but holds you in their heart.
Something extraordinary happens to us when we take the time to let Jesus be our friend. We know in our heads that Jesus came to save us from our sins and ourselves. But do we experience that grace and truth from Him in our guts, who we are each moment? Be honest with Jesus about yourself, someone else, or anything on your mind a lot.
Our Lord’s birth isn’t a memory over 2000 years ago. Nor is it a nice thought about a baby in a crib that disappears when we walk away from that manger. Jesus became human in every way, except in a way to hurt us, sin. Coming as a helpless baby is enough for us to know that is how He comes any moment we accept Him.
Wow! We are empowered to be a child of God in that peaceful encounter with Jesus. That’s the beginning. We are empowered to be that vulnerable child with each other, without fear. Why? The child in us is Jesus.
When we are weak, He makes us strong. If you are too strong in yourself, go to the manger in your heart.
