How many invitations do you receive in the mail or email this time of year? There are so many parties to attend. People like to know how many will be attending their party, so they have a rough number for preparations. On the invitation is a place to check if you are attending or not attending.
Every morning I get up, I have gotten in the habit of answering an invitation of the Lord to live my day with Him. Our morning prayers are a way to accept His invitation to be with us in all we do and experience. I know how much I need Him and what it is like when I don’t welcome Him in my heart as I get out of bed.
There will be a lot of things we will do each day. Ask Mother Mary to help you say “Yes” to the Lord’s invitation to live your day with you. When she said “Yes” to the angel, Jesus was conceived in her womb. Immediately she left home and traveled to her cousin Elizabeth who was with child in her old age. I can see the Holy Spirit prompting her to help Elizabeth, who couldn’t manage many tasks in her old age.
Prayer is an invitation from God, who longs to be with us in all we do. Mary didn’t go it alone, and we never have to go it alone either. Check the box on the invitation, “I am going with You, Lord.”
